Organic and regional
Berger Feinste Confiserie stands for chocolate products of the highest quality and has a wide range of organic products in its range. Local herbs, organic whipped cream and fine brandies from the region as well as selected organic hazelnuts and organic almonds give the sweet creations a very special taste.
Traceability from the chocolate bar to its origin
Along with crude oil and coffee, cocoa is one of the most important raw materials on the world market. Despite growing demand, most smallholder families do not have a living income due to price fluctuations and high market concentration. Poverty and child labor shape the picture in these regions. But also the cocoa fields cannot be cultivated in a species-appropriate manner: Due to the low and uncertain income, no investments can be made for measures to protect plants and increase production. Old, less productive trees and a lower harvest are the consequences.
Only fair trade cocoa from sustainable cultivation is used to manufacture the exquisite chocolate products. This cocoa can be traced back to the cooperative of origin in the Dominican Republic. Fairtrade has set the goal of improving the living conditions of smallholders in developing and emerging countries. The Fairtrade premium enables investments in social projects and measures to increase productivity and quality, as well as offering training and further education. The continued existence of the cocoa plantations is ensured through environmentally friendly cocoa cultivation.
